Excursions

We start near very unusual building - the House with Chimeras. The building is decorated with fantastic fishes, elephants, rhinoceroses, antelopes, frogs, lizards, eagles, snakes. Closeby is Lutheran church and House of Crying Widow. Then we move to Verkhovna Rada (Ukrainian Parliament) and Mariinsky Palace. The palace was constructed in the middle of 18th century for Great Empress Elizabeth but she never lived there. Then strolling on Mariinskiy park,we watch the signs of the bullets on the wall of plant Arsenal since the civil war times. On Kievan hills there is a monument of ancient times - Askold's grave. The chronicles evidenced the story of 9th century. Then we move to the monument of Eternal Glory and finish with Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, the sacred place of Orthodox Christianity. This monastery was founded in the 11th century and since then millions of believers have visited it. There are a lot of museums on the territory of Lavra - Museum of Microminiatures, Museum of historical treasure of Ukraine, Museum of hologram and other.
